On September 13, Deputy Minister of Finance Sergiy Marchenko participated in the meeting of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman with the First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund David Lipton and Director of the European Department of the IMF Poul Thomsen.

The participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of the IMF program and further cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF.

On April 3, 2017, Ukraine for the first time successfully passed the third review of the IMF Extended Funding Facility (EFF) and received the fourth tranche amounting USD 1b which were transferred to the international reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Ongoing cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF in line with the Extended Funding Facility is a pre-condition for the macroeconomic stability and the build-up of a favorable environment for sustainable development.
