6/23/17

On June 22, Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk met Hugh Mingarelli, the Head of the EU Representative Office in Ukraine.

The parties discussed a number of draft laws introduced by the Minister of Finance to the Parliament long ago which must be adopted as a part of Ukraine’s obligations related to the Association Agreement with the EU. They include draft laws on customs control, authorized economic operators, accounting and financial reporting, audit activity etc. Legislative changes in these fields are also required to receive macro-financial support from the EU.

“It is in Ukraine’s interest to adopt these draft laws which are not only important for the implementation of reforms in our country, but are also needed to meet our obligations regarding the Association Agreement with the EU”, Oleksandr Danyliuk said.

“We hope that political forces in the Ukrainian Parliament will consolidate and adopt the necessary legislation soon. Ukraine should not slow down on its way of reforms now, since it is crucial for its further sustainable development”, Hugh Mingarelli stressed.
