The Ministry of Finance and the Otolaryngology Institute named after Prof. O. Kolomiychenko of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine have prepared tender conditions for the purchase of cochlear implants for children with irreversible hearing disorders.
This issue was on the agenda of the meeting between the senior representatives of the Ministry of Finance and representatives of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine as well as patients’ and charity organisations. The meeting took place to discuss the targeted, effective and transparent use of state budgets plants for the supply of ear implants, also involving the electronic public procurement system ProZorro.
The new draft of the terms of reference for the purchase of cochlear ear implants stipulates new requirements concerning the quality, technical and economic as well as special features of these products (including the supply of the newest implant models), warranty service (service point in Ukraine for service under warranty and post-warranty service), availability of qualified and certified personnel (service works shall be carried out by the employees of the supplier and trained specialists certified by manufacturers) etc.
These amendments will make it possible to purchase the needed medical products in an effective and transparent way.
This year, the allocation in the state budget for the purchase of ear implants is equal to UAH 450 million, which is almost the three-fold of 2018. These funds will cover the needs of all patients registered to receive ear implants.
