On April 19, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk met Minister of Finance of Canada Bill Morneau as part of the annual spring meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington.
The Ministers discussed the progress of reforms in Ukraine and the prospects to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Canada. Special attention was paid to the importance of the comprehensive reform of the SFS and the establishment of the Financial Investigation Service. Bill Morneau assured Oleksandr Danyliuk that Canada will continue to support the reform of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine and stressed the importance of the reforms launched by Ukraine for its further economic development.
Oleksandr Danyliuk thanked his Canadian counterpart for the support to Ukraine and re-confirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Finance to the launched initiatives aimed to enhance the financial stability of Ukraine.
On the same day, Oleksandr Danyliuk met Minister of Finance of Bulgaria Vladislav Goranov.
The Ministers discussed the bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Bulgaria. Vladislav Goranov mentioned the progress achieved by Ukraine in meeting the conditions for the third tranche of the micro-financial aid from the EU.
Oleksandr Danyliuk stressed the importance of the improvement of the bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed his gratitude to Bulgaria for its support for Ukraine as the country currently holding the presidency in the EU Council.
