Sergiy Verlanov graduated from Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko.
Mr. Verlanov received a Master’s degree in Law in 2003 and a PhD degree in Law sciences with thesis “Theory and history of state and law; history of political and law doctrines” in 2008.
After his graduation, Sergiy Verlanov worked as a legal advisor in some companies in Lviv region.
In November 2008, Mr. Verlanov joined PwC as a lawyer, where he worked till June 2015.
From July 2015 till July 2018 Mr. Verlanov worked as a partner at the leading Ukrainian law firm “Sayenko Kharenko”.
From 2015 till 2017 Mr. Verlanov has a position of co-chair of the legal committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.
Since 2016 Sergiy Verlanov has been a member of the Civil Council for Integrity and the Supreme Qualification Commission of the Judges of Ukraine (delegated by the Lawyers’ Association of Ukraine).
On July 26, 2018, Sergiy Verlanov was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine. Mr. Verlanov is responsible for tax and customs policy, reform of the SFS, establishment of a financial investigations service.
