On June 22 a joint sitting of the representatives of the World Bank, the Ministry of Finance and other ministries and offices responsible for implementation of the WB project portfolio in Ukraine took place.
The Cabinet of Ministers has endorsed a final decision developed by the Ministry of Finance concerning recapitalization by the Government of Ukrhazbank, Bank Kyiv and Rodovid Bank.

In connection with recent false information in mass media concerning using a part of the current tranche of the IMF standby loan for financing debt obligations of banks which are going to be capitalized by the Government, the Ministry of Finance informs that:
The funds received from the International Monetary Fund cannot be spent on covering debts of the banks under capitalization and will be used exclusively as provided by the Memorandum signed by the Government of Ukraine and IMF.
As provided by the Law of Ukraine "On State Budget of Ukraine for 2009" and according to the program of measures of gradual compensation of Ukrainian citizens for losses by devalued savings the charges have been adopted in the amount of UAH250 million.
IMF and Ukraine have finished the first revision of Standby Agreement. On May 8, 2009 IMF Board of directors approved a granting of the second tranche as a part of the Agreement in the amount of USD 2,8 milliard.
